Love, Family, and Marriage

Love isn’t practical! It’s not meant to be easy. Love will put you face-to-face with many obstacles; it will pair you with someone you never expected… There will be times in your relationship when you drive each other crazy, times when you feel like you don’t know who your partner/spouse is anymore… The truth is relationships are complex. Relationships can and will have ups and downs. At times you may even find yourself worrying whether your relationship is strong enough to stand the test of times… For better or for worse, the quality of your relationship can be good or bad depending on how well you know one another. The quality of a relationship is a function of the degree to which a couple has built a solid underlying friendship. It is the extent to which each person cares about meeting the needs of their partner. To make a relationship last through marriage, having children, and life’s everyday stresses; couples must become better friends. Through better or worse, commitments should mean more then just being married or growing a family with someone… A truly committed couplebelieves wholeheartedly that their relationship is a lifelong journey. A journey that comprises how to weather the storms that threatens relationships, and how to ride the ups and downs and still find in the end that your love cannot be altered! Remember, love takes patience, sacrifice, and a continued shared commitment.

Relationships and Creative Intimacy

Relationships are bound to have ups and downs. Relationships require work, a willingness to address issues, and participation from each individual. Even the most simplistic everyday stressors can strain an intimate relationship. Intimacy is not just about the romance intimacy is deeper then that! Intimacy isn’t just the physical element… intimacy is about truly knowing someone, intimacy is about truly understanding someone, it’s a feeling of being close to someone not just physically but also emotionally. Intimacy will involve putting time and effort continually into your relationship. Being intimate isn’t achieved by doing a date night every now and then. You don’t just do something to do it and then expect to get a result. You have to be completely committed and holistically focused on getting to know each other on multiple levels.
